Our New Friend

Well it turned out we were right- my little Mazda was going to cost a LOT to repair- so the insurance company just cut us a check for what they estimated the car was worth- and they were very generous in their estimate! Steve and I were actually discussing how this accident (with no injured people) has turned into quite the unexpected blessing- we were able to upgrade our car to something newer with more space, less miles, and more fun extras while also "trading in" my good older car for more than we probably would have gotten trying to sell it privately. With Steve being out of a job for now, and me on maternity leave, we had a nice long time to look for a second car without having to race against the deadline of working at two different locations- we are almost always together. And because we were able to take our time- we really found a great deal!

After doing much shopping around, we both decided that we aren't fans of the big dealerships. Too many high pressure sales and shady businessmen. We ended up finding our "new"(used) car at a little dealership in Payson with 1 1/2 salesmen on the staff and about 15 cars on the lot- Rob Marsh Car and Truck Sales. The salesman, Kurtis, was incredibly helpful through the the whole car buying process, and best of all, we never felt pressured into anything by him! It was awesome! Anyway, we highly recommend this dealership.

And now, without further adieu, our new car....

Obviously this is a stock picture- but it's pretty much right on the money. We got a Silver 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe LX. It's pretty pimped out with a sunroof, a CD player with an auxiliary jack, heated seats, and LOTS of leg room (good for us as tall people). As an added bonus, we found out from my recently experienced mother auntie that it has an awesome system for locking in car seats and booster seats, which will be great cause we have a little one now and will for many years :) We're pretty excited- if you can't tell!

Hey guys! Sorry this is a little late, but congrats on Jackson! He is SUCH a cutie! Love how much hair he has! Also glad that your car situation worked out! That is amazing and you will love the Santa Fe, we had a 2002 and LOVED it, but sadly lost it in a car accident and whenever I see a Santa Fe I get super sad and wish I had ours back! Congrats again and we wish we were closer so we could see the little man in person!
